Fried pineapple


We open the can and drain the pineapple slices. In a bowl beat the egg with the sugar, add the milk, sifted flour and baking powder. Mix well until smooth. Leave the dough for at least 30 minutes, then insert the pineapple slices into the dough and leave them there.

If you choose to make apples, they are peeled and pitted using that special tool that helps us not to destroy the apple :)

Cut 1 cm slices, which we keep in water with lemon juice so as not to oxidize. Put oil in a hot pan. Fry the pineapple in turn on both sides until nicely browned. Remove on an absorbent paper towel.

Remove the apples from the water with the lemon juice on a paper towel, then dip them in the dough, then in the hot oil. Serve hot with plenty of honey on top. I sprinkled the apples with a little cinnamon to distinguish them;)

We have written about places in Bucharest where you can drink the best gin, but today we are talking about some good gin and tonic recipes, which we can prepare at home at any time.

Most often I have seen consuming tonic gin along with the classic lime or lemon, cucumber or berry, but there are recipes much more ingenious and tasty than these.

Shock flowers and lemon juice

Mix the ingredients well, pour over the ice and garnish with a sprig of shock flowers or a slice of lemon.

Spicy oranges and cinnamon

  • 50ml gin
  • 125ml tonic
  • orange slices (along with peel)
  • freshly ground nutmeg
  • cinnamon stick

Pour the gin into a glass with a lot of ice, add a few slices of orange, sprinkle a little ground nutmeg and garnish with a cinnamon stick (without ground cinnamon). The recipe works well during the winter holidays.

Fried pineapple and lime

  • 2 slices / pieces of pineapple (fresh or canned)
  • 50ml gin
  • 70ml pineapple juice
  • tonic water (for filling)
  • 1 file

Place the pineapple on the grill for a few minutes until lightly browned. Mix well in a shaker: the pieces of pineapple, gin, and pineapple juice, pour into a glass of ice, in which you add tonic to complete at the end.

You can squeeze a little lime if it is too sweet.

Hot peppers, lime and coriander

  • 1 small red hot pepper
  • 1/2 or a squeezed lime
  • 50ml gin
  • 125ml tonic
  • coriander leaves (for decoration)

Cut the pepper into small slices, remove the seeds, and then cut in half (see picture for reference). Add the gin, squeezed lime juice and pepper in a glass of ice, and finally the tonic water. Coriander is used for decoration and flavor.

Watermelon and lime

Although the summer is over, watermelon is still found so we can still enjoy a fresh gin and tonic gin recipe with watermelon.

Squeeze half or a whole lime (depending on taste), add a few slices and in the glass full of ice. Add 4-5 small cubes of watermelon, pour the gin and tonic water at the end. You can also decorate with a slice of mint in addition to those of lemon or lime.

Grapefruit and red peppercorns

  • 40ml grapefruit juice (preferably squeezed, but it also works commercially)
  • 50ml gin
  • tonic water
  • red peppercorns

Fill the glass with ice, mix the ingredients separately (grapefruit juice, gin and tonic) and then pour over the ice, and finally throw a handful of red peppercorns in the glass and garnish with a slice of grapefruit.

Exotic rice with teriyaki mushrooms

Inspired by Asian cuisine, the combination of rice with pineapple and curry seems to me to fit perfectly. In my view, food brings joy, fills us with energy, not only helps us survive. That's why bold combinations are a real treat for me. Who says you need meat for that?

Ingredient:
  • 200 grams of brown mushrooms
  • 4 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • 200 grams of brown basmati rice
  • 50 grams of black rice
  • an onion
  • a carrot
  • half a red pepper
  • 50 grams of peas
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 150 grams of pineapple
  • 1 teaspoon curry
  • salt and pepper
  • a green onion
  • a little bit of oil
Method of preparation

To cook the rice correctly, I left it to hydrate for about 1-2 hours and rinsed it very well in several waters. I then boiled it for about 25 minutes, until it became al dente, after which I drained it in a strainer. I started to prepare the mushrooms, cut them into slices and put them in the oven, at 180 ° C, on a baking sheet, sprinkled with a little salt and a drop of oil. Meanwhile, I mixed the teryaki sauce with the honey in a bowl and after about 10 minutes I took them out of the oven and emptied them into the bowl with the teryaki sauce. I mixed the mushrooms well with the sauce, I put them back in the pan with the sauce and I baked them for another 5-8 minutes.

Then I fried the pineapple pieces in a little oil and turned them from side to side until they caught a golden crust. After they were fried, I let them rest on a plate.

In the same pan I put finely chopped onions, diced peppers, sliced ​​carrots and peas and hardened them all in a little oil. I added rice, pineapple, soy sauce and then seasoned with salt, pepper and curry.

I mixed all the ingredients well in the pan for about 3-4 minutes and then I emptied the rice into bowls, added the mushrooms and sprinkled the green onion pieces. Enjoy your meal!

3. Season the fish with salt and pepper, and in 5 minutes you can start frying them. Mix wheat flour with corn flour.

4.Put the pan with oil on the fire, and in the meantime, pass the fish through the flour mixture and put them in the pan to fry.

  • 1 grinder with salt

  • 5 grams of rosemary
  • 2 green onions

Preparation for rice with shrimp and pineapple

About 2 hours before we start cooking, we defrost the shrimp. When they reach room temperature, we wash them well and let them drain. Rinse the cashews and raisins and let them soak in water. Remove the green beans to thaw a little.

Meanwhile, cut the pineapples in half and remove the pulp separately, so that the peel remains in the form of a bowl. Cut the pulp from the back and chop it into cubes. We also cut the pepper and onion into cubes. In a saucepan, boil the basmati rice with a little salt, according to the specifications on the package, and leave it warm, covered.

In a wok pan, heat the oil over medium heat and put the peppers and onions first. Stir for 2-3 minutes until the onion becomes slightly transparent.
